Never again! I gave them another chance tonight, and they got my order wrong once again. I'm beginning to think they don't have shredded beef and are just substituting ground beef instead. And by ground "beef" I mean, overly salty, greasy, meat of some sort. The quality of their meat is questionable; I took one bite, and said, "Nope-not that hungry". My precious husband is now looking for the Rolaids. I have been going that place for 20+ years, and it is just not the same quality it was before. I'm really done this time.

Went there today for lunch and sat at the bar for drinks and order off the menu. Service was great from the bartender and our food was hot, delicious and plentiful! Definitely will be back!

This place was a major disappointment. It had been talked up by a friend as the best Mexican food in the area...this is definitely not the case. The food was mediocre at best. I know good Mexican food and this is not it. In addition, the waiter was rude and clearly wanted us out as quickly as possible. We ordered and were prepared for a nice leisurely meal, but were in and out in 20 minutes because the waiter was rushing us. Also, we asked about a drink menu and were told that no alcohol was served in the dining room only to watch the waiter take a mixed drink to the table next to us. Rude. Won't be going back.

Greasy, salty, flavourless Mexican. It's an insult to good Mexican food. The restaurant was also filthy.

Casa Serrano is part of a local restaurant group. There is a second, trendier restaurant with the same name across from the casinos in Laughlin, NV, but I drove the 10 miles or so through Bullhead City, AZ to what appeared to be the original. The interior here is whitewashed walls, colorful and slightly cheesy plastic flowers, and background music that sounds authentically Mexican. I liked it! Walking in after dark, past the palm trees and splashing fountain, you have the feeling you're about to embark on an exotic adventure, like meeting Peter Lorre in a back booth to discuss his "letters of transit." The food here is not exceptional but still very good for what it is. Service is friendly and the portions generous, and with a few surprises. The standard tortilla chips came with bean dip and two kinds of salsa. The check came with a little sweet to end the meal at no charge (but don't let that deter you from having dessert!) I dined there in October 2014, on a weeknight after 7 p.m., and had the place almost to myself. That's not a mark against the restaurant. Bullhead City seems to pack it in early in deference to the casinos along the river. Driving back to the hotel, however, I found myself singing that old John Denver song "Saturday Night in Toledo, Ohio" - except in this case they roll up the sidewalks precisely at 8:30!

Food was great! I had the desert burrito and my friend had the street tacos. The waiters were friendly and service has been great even though they are busy. We sat in the bar area. We were out for a drive again and saw how packed the parking lot was so thought we'd give it a shot! It was a good choice and they have free WiFi!!! Great chips and salsa!

Everytime I go to Laughlin, I visit this place. It's very good and everyone always enjoys the bean dip. Margaritas are great as well. It's family and friend tradition to have dinner here at least once during a river trip!

This place has been worn hard and put away wet. What a dump! Looks like they pretty much have just given up on the exterior of the place. The inside isn't too much better. I like the location in LHC, but this place is just dumpy. The food was completely blah...... no flavor. I got bent over with a $4.00 upgrade for changing the chicken in my burrito from shredded to grilled. So my $8 burrito became a $12 burrito plus $2 more for rice and beans for a $14 plate. Not worth that at all. The place was so warm and uncomfortable inside as well. Turn on the a/c!! Gave an extra star just because our server was good and friendly.

I'm not from around here but the entire time I was here I was looking for Robert Irvine's (Restaurant: Impossible) phone number. LOL but seriously it was that bad. Nothing that came to our or the surrounding tables looked edible. Everything needs a makeover, from the menu to the decor. Only because the waiters were friendly do I give an extra star. I had to send my Marimba back after 2 bites and totally lost my appetite. If you're from the Food Network, seriously this should be the next project for Mr. Irvine.

Terrible Mexican food, I'm from California and eat Mexican food at least 3 days a week, margarita was $11 and tasted like lemonade, the carne asada didn't look or taste like carne asada, never again . Waitress was great , atmosphere is nice as well. Just need to work on the food and done be scared to put some alcohol in that $11 margi

I was down visiting my Sister and to look at houses, found a house Friday, put in an offer, it was accepted. My brother in law did the inspection Saturday, so to thank them, took them out to dinner. None of us had been here before, the Realtor recommended it. They start you off with chips, two kinds of salsa and bean dip, all were great. The first two tastes of the hotter salsa seemed pretty mild, on the third chip I must have gotten a piece of a hot pepper, it warmed up considerably, had me reaching for my margarita. I had a three item combo, they had a large selection of items to choose from empanadas, taquitos, tacos, burritos, enchiladas, quesadillas, tostadas, chile relleno, etc.. I had a chile relleno, a machaca enchilada and a machaca taco for my choices, it comes with rice and beans. The entrees were all good, the taco shell was a little over cooked, but not enough to distract from the contents. The chile relleno was very good, if available I normally order a chile relleno, that way I have a common item to compare to. It was a lot of food, I was too full, should of got the two item combo. The sides were at opposite ends of the spectrum, the beans were very good, I didn't care for the rice. The rice thing may be due to the water, since rice absorbs so much water, I figure it must play a role in the taste, I notice the different tastes of water when I travel. I had a frozen margarita, salted rim, with dinner, it came with a lime and a orange slice on the rim, but I actually tasted a hint of orange in the margarita, it was different, but I liked it. Since I will be moving here, this may be my goto Mexican restaurant, I will try the others in the area before making that decision. The service was excellent, while waiting for dinner, the sever kept our chips, salsa and bean dip replenished, continually checked that everything was okay and if we needed anything during the meal. Great service, good to very good food, I would recommend it to anyone, I will definitely be back.

I love the Serrano burrito! My daughter ways gets the seafood tostada. Make sure to save room for a banana taco though!!! That's the main reason we go there!

The absolute best Enchiladas my husband and I have ever had. Being a California native and always going down to Mexico for tacos, and sea food I feel like this place is the closest I can get to Mexico while out on the river. Our server, was very nice accurate with our meal, meals were hot when served not as if they had been waiting on other dishes. All of our dishes came out at the same time. Some of our party ordered hot meals and some sea food so timing and temperature were on point. The manager Mannie came around every few minutes to ensure our meals me our expectations as well as the server. The outside beautiful with waterfall and rock walls. I dont know how old the other review is that states the" outside and inside were horrible" but my kids enjoyed the waterfall, the inside was pleasantly cultured with a mexican feel, flowers hanging, archade for kids to play. Bathrooms were very clean. I appreciated the hospitality of the host and manager. We would definitely come here again!

One star is too much for this place. While visiting my sister and neice, my baby decided to order "womb service" in the form of a shrimp cocktail (I'm prego). They suggested this place. Turned out to be a big mistake, HUGE! First of all our waitress really sucked the big one. It took her 15 mins just to come take our drink order. Then another 10 to bring them. When she saw my sister giving her the evil eye she made the excuse the bar was busy we asked for tbe non alcoholic drinks while we waited. She then appearred with all the drinks and low and behold our margaritas were on the tray but you could tell they had been sitting a while since they were 1/2 melted. Our food finally came shortly after. The shrimp cocktails were saturated in celery salt and were so nasty they were not even edible. We had to flag down the manager since our waitress was nowhere to be found who asked if we wanted something else and we asked for them to make them again, no salt. He informed us they came prepackaged and would taste the same. Ewwwwww.... we didn't want anything else. They didn't even appologize and just took them off the bill. My sister found gnats in her margarita and they did not even offer to comp the drink or anything else. The waitress said . "well atleast the drinks were good" and she admitted the shrimp looked a "lil mushy" to her when she brought them to us. Least to say it was a total waste of over an hour to leave hungry, pissed off and unsatisfied. Never again. Would rather travel extra miles to get great food and awesome service down the highway. I plan to move to the area and i would not give this place a second glance. My niece said she would sooner eat gas station sushi.

This place is near my Uncles house so we usually go there when we visit him. Good menu variety and one of the better places to eat in town. Service was slow but exceptionally friendly. Go when you have time to visit. Only 4 stars due to 2 factors: 1) Everything was way too salty. The first time I went I ordered mole, which is one of my favorite sauces ever. Theirs was so salty I couldn't eat more than a few bites. 2) The water is so bad I almost spit it out. This provably isn't their fault; they're probably just serving tap water that is yucky in that area. Just don't try to drink it. Order an horchata or margarita instead. Our next visit I ordered the fajita salad. While the meat was pretty salty, tge rest if the salad balanced it out and it was really pretty good. I would order it again.

This should NOT be called a buffet in any way or form!! OMG it was the worst I could ever say! The "very LITTLE " they had was tasteless!! To top it off the waitress was horrible, she only came by ONCE!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND IT!!!

Food is mediocre as well as their service. Adding to my previous review of this establishment theft is now a problem here.

I went there this evening with my family. The service was excellent! The chips and salsa were delicious, as always. I had the street tacos and I think this might be my favorite dish that they serve. The meat was not super fatty, I hate it when you order steak and most of it is chewy, disgusting fat! The food was so good - we eat there about once a month, and have never had bad service. Although, I will say, sometimes the food is not as good as it has been on previous visits.

  • Lesley D.

The only reason they get 2 stars is because the chips, salsa, and bean dip are pretty good. Our entrees were not good - I had tilapia which was mushy, mushy, mushy and smothered in cheese! We also had fajitas which were sub par, and someone in our group ordered a burger which he said was terrible. The bun was stale, and he said there was a weird mexican seasoning on it. I don't think we will be going back...

  • Jean O.

I didn't eat the food from the menu, but I had the tacos for Taco Tuesday. I had carne asada tacos and they were delicious!! The tortillas were freshly made and all the condiments (which you put on yourself) complimented the tacos perfectly! I tried some of my sister' molé, and I did not like it. Aside from that, the chips, salsa, and bean dip were good. I wish I lived closer to this place because it's been less than a week since we went and in dying to go back.

So we walk in around 10:30am and are seated fairly quickly. Our server informs us there is a buffet for 7.99 with cheese enchiladas taquitos pork tacos rice beans and some other things.. Chips beans and 3 salsas were placed on our table very quickly.. All the salsas were good the beans I didn't like very much. 2 of my party opted for the buffet.. I sampled the taquito and pork taco and they were good. I believe the tortillas were made fresh. I ordered a combination plate with a hard beef taco chicken enchilada with green sauce and tamale. My friend got the same. My taco and enchilada were good but was too full to try the tamale but my friend said she liked hers. The buffet had churros so we had some and they were just basic.. When we were finished we were brought complimentary cinnamon and sugar fried chips with whip cream which was very good and I loved because not many places have that!! Our server was very attentive and was cool about me trying the buffet without charge!

It was okay. The service was good and they had a wide variety of food on their menu. This is the place my bf and his family always go to when they are in town. They even have a $33 burrito. Bananas!

I try to stop at this place any time I'm in the Bullhead City area. Unfortunately, until last week, I had not been there since 2008. I kept running out of time on my trips south. It's nice to see that it still lives up to how I remember it and if anything some of the food choices are better tasting than I remember. They have an extensive menu but I usually stick to the ala carte and just get a taco and an enchilada as that's plenty enough without all that beans and rice business. The chips and salsa were tasty as always. They had mild and hot salsa and I tried both. They were both very much to my liking. They served up a bean dip as well and it was good but not great. The chips and salsa were constantly replenished so that was definitely a good feature. Their soft drinks come in a huge glass (I'm guessing so they don't have to refill) because you can almost never finish it. So, it's definitely a good value. They give a senior discount to those in your party over 55 (it's 10 percent) or so it says. My dad said he only ended up getting $4 off when he paid for the six of us and there were four in the party that were over 55. I'm not sure if that was a math error or what because I'm sure the discount would have been more than that. The bathrooms needed attention as the women's room only had paper in one of the three stalls. To their credit, when reported they fixed it immediately. Always love the food. I'll be back when I'm in town again.

Laughlin is not usually the place where you find delicious food however I have to say it was worth crossing the river for this place. The local cops referred us to this place and we were very thankful. The portions were very large and we fed 7 people dinner for only $70. What a deal. I will definitely return to Casa Serrano on my next trip to the Avi. The chips and salsa were awesome and I had the Machaca which thankfully did not come with eggs! My husband said the margarita was strong and delicious. I had the raspberry iced tea which was very refreshing.

Went here after spending the day out on the river. Food was good, service was good. But honestly, I could've sat and ate the chips and salsa all night. Their salsas are so delicious!

I can't imagine this is the best Mexican food in the area. I feel bad for the locals if so. The food wasn't inedible, but it was not really good. Chips, Salsa and Bean dip was a good starter. My Machaca wrap was so boring. It literally had a whole white onion in it, I swear. The beef to onion ratio was WAY off! 30/70 style. My sister got the Mexican Flag. NOPE! Take a detour when considering ordering this. We had a hard time even deciphering which meat was which (carnitas, chicken, shredded beef). The whole thing was strange. Those meats should be clearly differentiated upon sight! Staff was nice and BIG plus was the enormous glasses of Diet Coke they give you. You will never want for a refill at Casa Serrano...but you might want for a different meal.

We ate here twice in 4 days. Employees are polite, 99 cent bud lite and Coors lite as well a Mexican beer. Chips and salsa are worth the trip, alone. We arrived for dinner, sat in the bar so we could watch hockey. They brought us complimentary appetizers, chips and salsa and 99 cent beer. The first day our group basically chose the chefs specials, (although we didn't know that at the time) Awesome food.

Shame on you Casa Serrano!!! Because this week is Biker's Week, they are raising their prices and not offering any lunch specials. We had a $100.00 lunch there yesterday with my sister and parents and the quality of food, service and portion size did NOT reflect a $100.00 mexican meal :( LOCALS AVOID THIS PLACE THIS WEEK AND BIKERS BEWARE!!! This USED TO BE my favorite place in Fort Mohave but from now on, I'm going to intentionally NOT go there! Boo!!! (By the way, there weren't even any bikers there while we were there during lunch. Seems to me Casa Serrano was just making up an excuse to take advantage of the locals...)

  • Jean G.

*** BIKERS / LOCALS - PRICES RAISED! *** This week, due to the Laughlin River Run and an expected 30,000 bikers in town, Casa Serrano is NOT OFFERING LUNCH SPECIALS! My whole family, children included, had to order from the $$$-expensive dinner menu.

I'm from the oc so clearly Mexican food is one of my faves. I am sad to say I believe I have just eaten the worst Mexican food in Arizona. I say this with confidence and without having tried many other places. I ordered the Mexican flag. Three tasteless enchiladas with minimal cheese. An abundance of cheese is not always required if the enchiladas are tasty...but these were not. Beef, chicken and carnitas tasted basically the same. My first bite of the meal was a chicken joint/fat type thing covered in cartilage. It was the size of a grape and ruined any chance I had of enjoying the meal. After tasting the other two enchiladas I knew enjoyment was a long shot anyway. The service was fine and the Pepsi cups were large, but never refilled. This is not your abuelas Mexican food. My abuela could make better enchiladas and she's Irish. Go to Taco Bell instead, you will thank me.

A little warm in the main dining area. Had the carnitas burrito - not the best I've had, and not the worst. Great salsas.

I have the biggest opportunity to eat some amazing Mexican food since I live only a few exits from the boarder. However for me being a girl from Mohave Valley I have to say that No place that I go to in San Diego can rival with Casa Serrano. I have been going to Casa Serrano for over 10 years and when I come back home I make it one of my must stops!!! The chips and salsa are awesome. Seriously this place loves to supply their customers with a selection of salsas as long as you ask. Never ending chip baskets. Amazing drinks and I have to say i most definitely love the food! The spices and flavors are right on spot and wonderfully spicy!

  • Jennifer M.

When I want Mexican food this is where I go. Chips & salsa are the BEST! Chips are fresh made & so are the salsas, mild & hot. My husband & I regularly eat here for lunch or dinner & the bill is always under $25 (2 entrees & 2 sodas) - Oh & the sodas/teas are HUGE! If you have to get a refill you must be dehydrated! Ambiance is fun & colorful with nice murals on the wall in the main dining room & the staff is always accommodating & pleasant.

Sam suggested Mexican food so we used the 'Around Me' app and found several in the area. Taking a chance on the name and proximity we ended up here and were delighted by the authentic aroma when we entered the building. Fresh hot tortilla chips, two kinds of salsa and bean dip landed on our table shortly after we sat down. The drinks were large, the food was delicious and the service was amazing. This restaurant gets 5 stars from our entire group. Check it out if you are ever in the area.

Two highly recommended delicious words: Shrimp Cocktail! It's a must. My girlfriend and I, (say hi babe, "hello"), always stop here for this freshly prepared delight. They truelly make it when you order it. The shrimp is thoroughly cleaned, the avocados rippened to perfection, and the presentation is tantalizing. Add a little: tapatio, ketchup, and lime, and you'll have yourself a perfect escape from the heat with this classic seafood recipe. 4-thumbs up!! PS Wash it down with their horchata, it's large and yummy!

We tried this place last weekend after an entire day on the boat, it was a decent experience... the restaurant itself is well put together for a river joint, the food was ok and fairly inexpensive... i had the Padrino burrito which came with rice and beans, the beef in the burrito was tender with good flavor... we all agreed to try this place again next time we are too lazy to drive up to Bullhead. The servers do need a tip of two on customer service because they seem not too happy to be working there.... PS. if you want quick inexpensive and good Mexican food in the Willow valley area/Mohave desert try Los Amigos right next to the Best Buy market... i'm a loyal customer and its the food to have before gettin' on the river

I've tried this place a couple of times over the past four years. I am consistenly disappointed. The service is subpar, and the food always disappoints. Try Agave's on Hancock instead for some REAL mexican food at much better prices.

Amazing! Went on a Thursday evening, quite early (4ish, but from a different time zone). The happy hour tacos looked great, but went with the enchilada and tamale verde plate. Could not have asked for anything more! Absolutely perfect, foodwise. Service could have been a little more attentive, specifically with making sure our drinks were full, but otherwise, no complaints.

i'm a huge mexican food fan and this place didn't really do it for me. The service is ok and the people are nice but the food is inconsistent. Some days are good, some days not so much. I'm not from the area but I have a second home close by so I'm there quite often. I have learned not to crave mexican food while I'm there. I've tried almost every mexican food place in town and I'm not too impressed. Am I missing one... any suggestions?

This place does an excellent business and I am not sure why. Maybe it because it is the only Mexican game in the area. i have eaten here on three occasions and have not been impressed. it always irks me when a restaurant nickles and dimes you for extras, such as lettuce on a burrito. Come on, when I am with a party of ten and we are spending big bucks you can toss a pennies worth of lettuce on my burrito. The service has always been okay. It seems to be crowded every time I have been here so the waitresses are well worked. When I am in this area I drive to Oriol's (across from Wal Mart) for decent Mexican food.

One of our casino dealers from Laughlin suggested we try his favorite restaurant, Casa Serrano, and we were glad we did. The food was tasty, our service was great, and the lunch deals were great! We will go back again.

Even though the food is served on Real Plates (Versus To-Go Containers)....I feel like I'm at a "EAT and GET OUT" place!!!! And, don't EVEN think of asking for another drink - because your table is not turning as fast as your sevrver wants! And,the attitude shows!

This restaurant is our all time favorite Mexican restaurant. While I am sure others, somewhere, are better, I have not been in them. This is a comfortable stand alone restaurant located on Hwy 95 on the road to Bullhead City, Az. The food is great. They offer a buffet lunch and serve beer. There is aso a separate bar, but I have not been in there. The service is prompt and parking is good. Prices are reasonable, also. Whenever we visit Laughlin or Lake Havasu, we stop here. No exceptions. i also like his restaurant in Kingman, located in an old hotel. Ever the entrepreneur, Mr. Serrano aso has establishments in Lake Havasu, Bullhead City, and Laughlin. I have eaten in all of them, but this one is the best.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
